Express Entry Immigration to Canada
What is Express Entry?
Express Entry is Canada’s primary system for selecting skilled workers for permanent residence. It is a points‑based, competitive system managed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and is not an immigration program by itself.
- The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
- The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- Portions of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
Skilled Worker (FSWP)
The primary pathway for skilled professionals applying from outside Canada based on education, age, and language scores.
Canadian Experience
Tailored specifically for graduates and temporary workers who have already gained 12 months of skilled Canadian experience.
Provincial Nominee
Direct alignments with provincial streams that award an automatic 600 bonus CRS points to lock in an approval.
Two-Stage System
Strategic management of your profile entry (EOI) and fast execution once you receive your Invitation to Apply (ITA).
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- At least 12 months of skilled Canadian work experience
- Valid work authorization while gaining experience
- Meeting language requirements based on job classification
- No settlement funds requirement
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)

- Language proficiency in English or French
- Foreign education (with a Canadian equivalency assessment)

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) and Express Entry

- Some PNP streams require Express Entry first
- Others operate independently and later connect to Express Entry
- Program criteria change frequently and are province‑specific
