Increase in Canadian work permit applications by South Africans

Last year there was a 31% increase in the number of Canadian work permit applications processed for South Africans. This is according to a Canadian immigration consultant. Most of the work permits were for job offers in Canada, but at least a third of them were for intra-company transfers or work permits associated with investor programmes. The increase in applications is said to be linked to the uncertainty around the 2024 elections.
