Daniel Kemp is what we refer to as a mature student, at 37 years of age he had a wealth of working experience in the advertising industry and was ready to make a career change.
With the help of our dedicated placement specialists, Daniel was accepted to the prestigious University of Regina to complete a masters program, on top of this acceptance he also received a CAD $1000 entrance scholarship from the university.

AeroPhysX is one of only three companies in the world that offers drone-based geophysics and geospatial technology. The Company has developed propriety time-domain electromagnetics (TDEM) capability – the first company in the world to do so using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).
Business Problem: The company’s new TDEM solution needed a larger economic market to support adoption of the new technology and to allow the company to scale up globally. As well, all three of the company’s founders wanted to be in same jurisdiction. An intra-company transfer was not an option.
Start-up Visa Solution: Setting their sights on Canada, the AeroPhysX team worked with Beaver Immigration to secure a letter of support and commitment certificate from Canadian designated organization. The Start-Up Visa program allowed all three founders to apply for their work permits and permanent residency application at the same time.
This start-up company was founded in July 2021 by one of South Africa’s most renowned dietitians. Thermonalysis’s goal is to be the world’s leading tool to commercialize a smart food temperature and compliance solution that will increase public safety and reduce risk for restaurants, food distributors and food retailers.
Business problem: The innovator of this mass food safety application needed a developed economy that had strict food safety standards across multiple industries. Additionally, the start-up needed access to Canadian software developers that had the capacity to turn the founder’s experimental technology into operational reality.
Start-up Visa Solution: In September 2021, with the support and guidance of Beaver Immigration, Thermonalysis was accepted into the Designated Organization, known as the Manitoba Technology Accelerator (MTA). The MTA immediately provided Thermonalysis with a business coach and the founder was able to find technology-related service provider to build out the technological back end of the business.
Launched in 2021, Airway Health has developed an interactive digital platform that allows patients to control their medical treatment program for Airway-Centered Disorders. Through the patient’s initiative, the platform will allow health care professionals to collaboratively treat the causes of a patient’s maxillofacial problem, rather than just the symptoms. The overall goal of company is to disrupt the dental industry by treating patients’ face, jaw or mouth ailments early in order to avoid costly dental surgery in the future.
Business Problem: Airway dentistry is still in its infancy as it gains credibility in the overall market, however, it has gained greater traction in the North American market. For this disruptive treatment application to work, Airway Health needed to launch its innovation in a larger market that can provide for a deeper and wider pool of health professionals that are able to participate in the apps collaborative approach.
Start-up Visa Solution: With 20 years of experience, the company’s founder, Dr. Shanaz Khan, was able to legally enter Canada to launch her med-tech start-up. The annual revenue associated with the Canadian dental market is estimated to be over $16 billion with over 28,000 dentists. With greater demand in the Canadian market Airway Health is in a better where there is The Company will accomplish this with its easy-to-use digital platform that educates patients on myofascial therapy as an alternative practice. The application has a built-in screening and assessment tool that allows patients to answer questions that are age and condition specific.
GoodX develops innovative medial software applications that allows medical practices and hospitals to facilitate daily functions of such as, scheduling, billing, clinical notes, health insurance claims and patient relationship management tools. It is a South African leader in developing e-solutions for healthcare providers.
Business Problem: One of the company’s founders wanted to expand the company’s product offering by using its developing more digital based apps that allow the healthcare provider and patient to collaborate more closely online. For these types of solution to work, the med-tech firm wanted to develop its new apps in a market where the mass majority of consumers have sophisticated smartphones. As well as a market that is rapidly moving from a paper-based system to digital one. Canada was the right market.
Start-up Visa Solution: GoodX used the Start-up visa program as the immigration solution to come to Canada, to launch its proprietary med-tech IP. Moreover, working with a leading business incubator will allow for the new Canadian start-up to adapt its technology to the Canadian healthcare industry faster.
